AI Assistant - MCP Connector
The Taskyy MCP Connector lets you connect Taskyy to ChatGPT and other MCP-compatible agents so your team can use AI to perform real CRM actions with contractor software guardrails.
What This Feature Does
- Exposes Taskyy tools through MCP endpoints.
- Lets users bring their own ChatGPT subscription and connect with an Agent API key.
- Supports read and write operations with account-level policy controls.
- Logs every MCP tool execution for audit and troubleshooting.
Why It Matters
- Turns Taskyy into agent-ready contractor management software without forcing users onto one AI model.
- Gives field teams faster workflows for invoices, tasks, schedules, and client follow-ups.
- Keeps security and permissions tied to Taskyy account scopes.
Prerequisites
- Taskyy addon: AI Assistant Bundle.
- Developer mode enabled in Profile settings.
- At least one Agent API key created in Developer page.
- Required scopes depending on tool usage:
- agent:receptionist
- agent:project_manager
- agent:invoice_manager
Setup Checklist

- Save write policy settings:
- Allow write tools: optional (recommended off for first setup)
- Require confirmation for writes: recommended on
- Open Developer page and create an Agent API key with required scopes.
- In ChatGPT or another MCP client, configure:
- Manifest URL from MCP page
- Auth: Bearer token = your Agent API key
- Call /tools and verify tool discovery.
- Run a read tool first, then test a write tool with confirm=true.
Connection Modes
Mode 2 (Shipped Now): Manual MCP
